"Warning: Permanently added the RSA host key for IP address..." while pushing to github

#1

Hello everybody,

Just a quick question about github.

I saw this message after pushing a file to my remote repository:

Warning: Permanently added the RSA host key for IP address ‘###.##.###.#’ to the list of known hosts.

I can’t remember if this has happened previously. From the little research I did this seems to happen when Github uses a new/unrecognized IP address. My file was successfully pushed to my remote repository, so everything worked. I’d just feel better if I knew exactly what the warning meant. Any answers would be appreciated.

Thanks!
-Erik

It’s usually normal: https://github.blog/2013-08-25-ip-address-changes/

Thank you for the link Tatsuran. I was able to verify through the blog’s links that the IP in question is on their list.
