Introduction

Hey there Odin Project community!

My name is Bailey and I am a 27 year old flight attendant who lives in rural Wisconsin but is based in Boston, MA. I have 12-18 days off a month and was looking to learn a new skill. After my boyfriend suggested coding about a month ago, I decided to take the leap.
I’m so glad I’ve found The Odin Project and I am ready to get started. I have little experience with computers, mostly some graphic design from college and high school but I’m here with open hands ready to learn anything I can!
Grateful you all are here and I have a place for all my questions.

Happy 2020 friends!

Hello World.

My name is Anthony and I have a great job that will be gone in approx 18 mos. I completed my Bachelor’s in CS earlier this year and feel like I have a decent grasp of CS theory and back end coding. My front end skill are poor and my portfolio is embarrassingly thin. I’m committing to completing The Odin Project in order to rectify those two issues.

Good luck everyone and Happy New Year!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Tanveer. I have completed my Bachelors in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and worked as a Network Engineer for a year. Currently I am unemployed and exploring options to move towards Web Development, primarily because it seems very challenging and also there is a lot of job availability. I have heard great things about Odin Project, and feel like this will be the perfect opportunity for me to get into this field.

Without further ado, lets BEGIN.

Happy New Year and Happy coding everyone.

Hi, my name is Rae. I spend a majority of my time around my pc, and I thought why not use the time to develop a skill. I did some research and landed here. Hoping to stick with the rest of the crowd and push through the grind

Hi, I am Panji. I majored in Mechanical Engineering and I only have a little experience with programming. I joined this community because I have interest in web development. I hope we can learn and share some knowledge here to improve ourselves in programming skills. Cheers!

Hello all, My Name is Chris from the US. Recently expecting my second child and looking to chase a career in web development. Always loved computers and the idea of coding, hoping to make a better, more stable life for my families future. Can’t wait to get started!

Hey! I’m Chris from New York. For the last 3 years I’ve been working as a “Data Specialist” for a small but high-profile company. I’ve been feeling stagnant recently in my career and I would like to expand my skills and open new doors. I hope to learn to build my own personal website during this journey as well.

Hey world! My name is Chandler and I’m from Georgia, USA. I’m 22 years old and I’m a newbie in the coding world. I started my college career in nursing and found that I was unhappy in that field, so I made the leap of faith into computer science. I’m currently working an entry level IT position and I have decided to expand my skills beyond just basic IT knowledge. My dream is to become a web developer so I can let my creative juices flow, and create something from nothing. I am truly excited to see where this will lead to, and I look forward to starting my very own projects.

#643

Hello! I’ve started TOP in order to build my foundations as a web developer, which will hopefully lead to work in a more dynamic environment. I look forward to sharing this journey with everyone else!

#644

Hi! I’m a civil engineer here to learn new skills and possibly change careers.

#645

Hello everyone!

My name is Megan, and I’m a newbie when it comes to coding.

After graduating with a Bachelors in Entomology (the study of insects), I ended up interning at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. This was an amazing experience for me, as I got to perform my own independent research and publish it (as first author) in a scientific, peer-reviewed journal. However, despite how much I enjoyed the project, I realized that making a career out of being a research entomologist was NOT what I expected it to be or what I really wanted. From there, I’ve had to really think hard about what field I wanted to pursue, and based on my skills, strengths, and what I find fun, I’ve decided to go into web development (I’ve already developed a web app/database for my personal entomology collection, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the process).

I’m hoping to use the courses and community here as a springboard for getting a job in web development. I look forward to learning with everyone here as we share our journeys to becoming better web developers!
