Having trouble switching Ruby Versions

#1

Hi there,

I am currently using the MAC terminal line to install ruby and go through all prompts for installing RUBY. I had success download 2.5.3 but when I type in “$ ruby -v” it says
“ruby 2.3.7p456 (2018-03-28 revision 63024) [universal.x86_64-darwin18]
Dannys-MacBook-Pro:~ dannycontreras$”

I then typed “rbenv global 2.5.3” and nothing happened.

Can I please have some help? thank you so much.

Update: this is what is currently showing when i type echo $path/

anaconda3/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin?

I’m assuming when I had anaconda downloaded

@dcjcontreras Did you restart your terminal? For changes in bash_profile to take effect, you must close and open the terminal or use the following command: source .bash_profile

This is what is popping up?

Have you put - eval “$ (rbenv init -)” - in your bash?

To check you can from the command: cat .bash_profile

This is the writing procedure in bash:
